Annelise Hall at YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow shared this idea with us, and we loved how it worked with us at Seymour this summer. Counselors wear bread tags on their shoes to combat homesickness. When they notice a homesick camper and nothing seems to be working, they pull off their tag and induct the camper into a secret group at camp that takes care of other campers, especially other homesick campers, by giving them the tag. If they see any campers not fitting in or feeling homesick its up to them to try and help, or get a counselor to help.
